Sebuah perjalanan mencari makna terang dan gelap, serta mereka kembali arti sesungguhnya bahwa “arsitektur” itu mahluk sejenis apa..........

Mengapa kita bisa menyebut hari dengan pagi, siang, sore dan malam? Bukankah dengan melihat cahaya kita bisa menyebut waktu-waktu tersebut, bukankah dengan perubahan arah bayangannya kita bisa menandai hari tanpa melihat arloji?

Dalam arsitektur-pun, cahaya dan bayangan memiliki peran yang sangat penting. Karena itulah arsitek selalu memodifikasi bentuk dan arah bukaan dengan memodifikasi cahaya kualitas ruang agar sesuai dengan mood yang diinginkan. Mulai dari bulat, segitiga, kotak, pipih, lebar, tinggi, hingga tak beraturan. Cahaya menjadi satu elemen yang bisa mempengaruhi segalanya; kualitas permukaan akan terlihat tanpa menyentuhnya, bayangan yang bisa menguasai psikologis kita, rasa ruang yang berbeda ketika kita mempermainkan arah bukaan dan titik penerangan...

Tentang I Putu Adi Widiantara :

I Putu Adi Widiantara, akrab dipanggil Adi Wiwid. Lahir 24 tahun silam dan menempuh studi arsitekturnya di Jurusan Arsitektur Universitas Udayana. Selepas masa studinya, ia sempat bergabung dengan sebuah biro arsitek di Bali, Bale Legend. Pada tahun 2010 Adi Wiwid mendapatkan penghargaan sebagai 20^th Young Asian Artist versi Imagine FX Magazine. Saat ini ia berarsitektur di Jakarta bersama tim di Andramatin Architects.

Tentang Architects Under Big 3:

diselenggarakan pada hari Jumat pertama tiap bulan yang dibawakan oleh arsitek muda usia dibawah 30 tahun. Dalam kegiatan ini arsitek muda diberi kesempatan untuk mempresentasikan karya arsitektur beserta pemikiran mereka pada publik melalui presentasi non formal yang diteruskan dengan diskusi santai. Bertempat di Danes Art Veranda, peserta diberi kebebasan untuk memilih ruangnya sendiri -di halaman, dek, rooftop, galeri- dimanapun tempat dimana mereka rasa paling nyaman untuk berbagi cerita dengan pendengarnya. Melalui pendekatan ini, arsitek muda beserta ide dan karya arsitekturnya berkesempatan untuk mendapatkan ruang berkomunikasi dengan khalayak yang lebih luas, baik khalayak awam arsitektur maupun khalayak arsitektur.

“Black and White”

A journey to find the meaning of light and dark and to find what kind of thing
“architecture” is....

Why do we name the day by morning, noon, afternoon, and night? We do can recognize time just by looking at the light, and by the shadow movement we can mark the day without looking at the watch.

                                                                             

In architecture, light and shadow have a significant role. Because of that, the architects always modify the shape and direction of the opening by modifies the quality of light in a space to fit the desired mood from round, triangle, rectangle, thin, wide, tall, until irregular shapes. Light has become one of the elements that can influence everything; the quality of the surface will be able to be seen without even touching it, shadow can control our psychology, different ambiance from a space when we play the direction of the opening and point of the lighting...

About I Putu Adi Widiantara :

I Putu Adi Widiantara, known as Adi Wiwid, was born 24 years ago and had learned architecture at Udayana University. After graduated, he joined with one of architecture firm in Bali, Bale Legend. In 2010, Adi Wiwid, got an achievement as 20^th Young Asian Artist from Imagine FX Magazine. Now, he’s doing architecture with Andramatin Architects team.

About Architects Under Big 3:

Architects Under Big 3 (AUB3) is an architectural presentation and discussion held on the first Friday of each month, and dedicated to young architects under 30 years of age. In this activity the young architect is given the opportunity to present their thoughts and works of architecture to the public through non-formal presentation, followed by an informal discussion. Located at Danes Art Veranda, the young architect is given freedom to choose their own space-in the yard, dining room, rooftop, gallery;  wherever the place  where  they  feel most comfortable to share their stories with  the audience. Through this approach, the young architect and their ideas and works of architecture get the opportunity and space to communicate with a wider audience: both general audience and audiences from the field of architecture.
