Tujuan utama ekspresi satire adalah untuk membangun kesadaran, menggunakan kejenakaan untuk menarik perhatian akan permasalahan yang terjadi di masyarakat. Jika pada sastra, ekspresi satire menggunakan kejenakaan; bagaimana implementasinya pada arsitektur?

Studi kasus akan membahas beberapa karya sayembara oleh Titus, Esi, dan tim; diantaranya adalah Belakang Hotel – 1st Place of Futurarc Prize 2016 Student Category, Adaptive Reuse Bioskop Indra – 1st Place of Architecture Grand Festival Competition 2014 by Binus University, Reconnection to Reflection – Honorable Mention of From Limit to Limit International Competition, and Adaptive Rejuvenation of Urban Office – 2nd Place of International Tropical Architecture Design Competition 2015.

Titus Pandu (1993) dan Maria Nersi (1992) lahir di Yogyakarta, keduanya adalah Arsitek lulusan Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta tahun 2016. Sejak kuliah, Titus dan Esi seringkali berkolaborasi dalam sayembara; selain meningkatkan kemampuan berarsitektur, juga sebagai proses membangun kematangan dalam partnership firma arsitektur ke depannya.

“SATIRE ARCHITECTURE”

“Satire is a genre of literature/arts, in which vices, follies, or shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, corporations, government, or society into improvement.” - Elliott, Robert C (2004), "The nature of satire", Encyclopædia Britannica.

The main aim of satire expression is to build awareness, use humor to draw attention to the problems that occur in the community. Satire is literally using humor to make an expression, but what about its implementation in architecture?

They will use a case to study by discussing some of the work competition of Titus, Esi, and team. Titus Pandu (1993) and Maria Nersi (1992) was born in Yogyakarta, both graduated from architecture department of Atma Jaya University in 2016.
